About me

Julia Carrigan is a LA-based writer who really loves God. She is in a wrestling match with some questions about the relationship between love of people and love of God; it constantly feels like she just dislocated her hip. The dirt on which they tumble is often the screenplay page.

But besides all that sentimental nonsense, she’s an accomplished filmmaker. Her short documentary, “Rodney Glasgow: the Power of a Whisper,” premiered at Tribeca Film Festival after winning an international video contest for the RFK Human Rights Foundation, judged by Alfre Woodard and Keegan-Michael Key amongst others. She was awarded a grant to travel internationally for a short film featuring young people’s fight against the climate crisis in La Paz, Bolivia titled “Proveyendo Purificador De Agua.” As a video producer for Muslim.co, she consistently produced videos that garnered over a million views– including one with over 17 million views across all platforms.

She earned an Erdös number of 3 after publishing original math research in Discrete Mathematics, and she thinks you should read Infinite Jest. Most importantly, she is Muslim and strives for everything in her life to serve God, the Ever-Merciful Creator of All and Giver of Everything Good.
